| Abstract | Effective use of career resource centers (CRCs) is dependent upon having good resources, good organization and management of the resources, purposeful access strategies (a variety of assessment activities and materials), and meaningful utilization of the information. Assuming that CRCs have good resources and are well organized and managed, a more effective approach to assessment and utilization is needed. The materials developed for the Ohio Vocational Interest Survey (OVIS II) illustrate the station approach, an individualized, self-instructional process in the use of career information resources. Students follow six steps in completing the OVIS II station: orientation, assessment, exploration, interpretation of OVIS II results, exploration of OVIS II clusters related to their highest measured interests, and educational planning.
