Abstract	This manual provides the procedures and instrumentation through which vocational education program personnel may critically assess the value and effectiveness of their program. The first section addresses preparing for the self-evaluation, including commitment, committees, and timetable. Conducting the self-evaluation is the focus of the next section. Use of questionnaire/forms provided in this section and in the appendix is considered. Also discussed are school district profile, vocational program profile, data display in working table format, data analyses, and conclusions, which are chapters 1-5 of the Self Evaluation Report. Guidelines for conducting a followup survey and instructions for the Self Evaluation Report follow. A final section concerns preparation for the visiting team and on-site visitation, which is the second step of the program evaluation. Appendixes, amounting to approximately three-fourths of the manual, include these forms: (1) working table shells for graduate followup survey, employer followup surveys, student forms, vocational staff form, advisory committee opinionnaire, and services to special needs students; (2) publication table shells; and (3) sample forms for on-site visit.
