Abstract | This teaching unit, Banking, is one in a series of career guides developed by Project CHOICE (Children Have Options in Career Education) to provide the classroom teacher with a source of career-related activities linking third and fourth grade elementary classroom experiences with the world of work. Part of the Business and Office Occupations Career Cluster, these eight lessons introduce some basic terminology and give background information related to banking careers and discuss job appreciation and worker/consumer attitudes. An introductory section gives the unit rationale, goals, performance objectives, entry-level assessment, and evaluation. A list of instructional materials, such as films, filmstrips, books, art supplies, and community resources, is included in this section. Each lesson contains a statement of purpose, materials needed for the lesson, an introductory statement, class activities, and a summary activity.
