Abstract | Part 5 of a series of 13 instructor's manuals for the competency based training of curriculum consultants for exceptional children focuses on the evaluation of support systems. Four competencies are considered: (1) that a curriculum consultant should be capable of assessing educational settings to determine needs which may warrant remediation through one or more of the existing support services; (2) that a curriculum consultant should be capable of identifying, describing, and gaining access to the various support systems available to school administrators; (3) that a curriculum consultant should be capable of utilizing the criteria relevant to the evaluation of support services available to special education; and (4) that a curriculum consultant should be capable of evaluating inservice training programs. Among materials included in the manual are lists of behavioral objectives, enabling activities, and evaluation criteria for each of the competency components. Space is provided for the instructor to list resources and comments for the activities provided for each of the components. A conference record sheet is included for each of the four competencies.
