Abstract	This guide for setting up a job development/job placement file is based on information obtained from the following sources: (1) site inspections of filing systems used by several Illinois and Missouri high schools and community colleges; (2) a questionnaire mailed to fifty-three job placement specialists, of which 41.5% were completed and returned; (3) discussions with project consultants; and (4) the University of Missouri and the Department of Education for Illinois. Following a brief introduction and definitions of key terms, a step-by-step outline explains how to set up the file. Suggestions for records management, minimum equipment, and minimum supplies are listed. Other information found in this guide includes guidelines for classifying the subject matter, supporting information, and a list of needed records and forms. Finally, a survey form is appended that was used to gather information needed in developing this records system guide. (BM)
