Abstract | By the Older Americans Amendments of 1975, the U.S. Commission on Civil Rights was directed to investigate unreasonable age discrimination in federally-assisted programs, report the findings and recommend statutory changes for administrative actions. Results of examinations of the literature, field studies and public hearings on the following programs are reported here: Community Health Centers, Foor Stamps, Medicaid, Community Mental Health Centers, Vocational Rehabilitation, CETA, Titles I, II, and VI, Title XX Social Services of the Social Security Act, Legal Services, Adult Basic Education, and Vocational Education.
