Abstract	The European Centre for Higher Education organized a symposium in October l977 to prepare a study on access to higher education in Europe. The purpose of the symposium was to pool suggestions for the plan and content of the proposed study and to examine possible methods of approach for certain problems that have recently arisen in the area of access to higher education in different countries. This volume contains all the documents prepared for the meeting. Part I contains the report of discussions and the working document prepared for the meeting; this part is in English, French, and Russian. The written contributions of the participants are gathered in Part II. The countries represented are Sweden, Rumania, Yugoslavia, the United Kingdom, Spain, Hungary, the Netherlands, Turkey, and the Soviet Union, and the presentations are in English or French. Part III contains a bibliography of 200 publications on access to higher education since 1973. (Author/MSE)
