| Abstract | The document is an evaluative final report on ten modules designed to teach specific instructional skills to teachers of the educable mentally retarded. The first chapter of the four-chapter report gives an overview of the study and a description of the modules. Chapter 2 explains the four-phase evaluation design: phase I, initial evaluations; phase II, expert review; phase III, use and impact study; phase IV, user's survey. Results delineated in Chapter 3 include the importance of content and skill areas, overcoming the limitations of handouts (previously employed), use of modules by teachers trainers and trainees, the attitude toward the modules, mastery of the content of modules, and suggested modifications. The fourth chapter presents a summary of the findings and submits four recommendations. Appendixes include, in part, a description of the modules, the questionnaires used in each of the evaluative phases, and an instruction sheet for the use of the module. (PHR) |
