Abstract | Eleven instructional units (divided into two sections) are provided in this curriculum guide for a one-year course for 12th grade students or adults who are interested in pursuing a career in the banking or savings and loan field. Unit titles in section 1 are Human Relations and Self Improvement, Relationship with Other People, and Coping with Problems. Unit titles in section 2 are Opening Checking Accounts, Opening Savings Accounts and Time Deposits, Customer Service, Proof Operations, Bookkeeping, Fundamentals of Teller Operations, Cashing, Issuing and Accepting Checks, and Teller Operations. Each unit includes these elements: behavioral objectives stated in terms of unit objectives (subject matter to be covered) and student objectives; suggested activities outlining steps to follow in accomplishing objectives; information sheets which provide content and background needed in developing skills (many illustrations and examples are included); transparency masters; unit assignment sheets (answers provided); job sheets (not included in all units) which outline procedures for skills taught; unit tests, and test answers.
