Abstract | This manual is designed as a guide for pesticide applicators to meet specific standards required for certification by federal regulations or state law. The eight sections included describe: (1) The most common features of pests, how they develop, and the kinds of damage they do; (2) Methods used to control pests and how to combine these methods for the best results; (3) How pesticides work; (4) How pesticide labels help pesticide applicators; (5) How pesticides can be used safely; (6) How to choose, use, and care for equipment; and (7) Federal laws and regulations. A glossary of terms used in pest control is presented at the end of this publication. (HM) |
