| Abstract | This publication provides information on construction assistance awarded to schools of medicine, osteopathic medicine, dentistry, optometry, pharmacy, podiatric medicine, veterinary medicine, public health, and nursing. In addition it provides data on grants awarded to schools of allied health, medical libraries, and health research facilities. The first part of the report contains summary tables of data on the number and amount of construction grant funds awarded, by region, type of training, fiscal year, and control and status of school. Additional data are also presented on expected program impact at the completion of construction, in terms of the number of increased first-year places, the number of first-year places maintained, the total enrollment maintained, and the number of added hospital beds. The second part contains a list of guaranteed construction loans on which the federal government pays the full amount of any defaults on interest and principal by health professions education and nurse training institutions.
