AbstractTo assist bricklaying instructors in providing comprehensive instruction to their students, this curriculum guide treats both the skills and information necessary for bricklaying in commercial and industrial construction. Eight instructional units are included, as follow: general orientation; tools and equipment; safety; materials; human relationships and leadership, focusing on characteristics desirable in employees; related information such as basic arithmetic and ratio and proportion problem solving; shop practices; and cleaning, pointing, and caulking. Each unit consists of eight sections: (1) student behavioral objectives, which state the goals of the course; (2) suggested activities, outlining steps for both students and instructors to accomplish specific objectives; (3) information sheets, which provide the content necessary to meet the knowledge objectives of the unit; (4) transparency masters to reinforce the learning process; (5) job sheets, which outline the skills being taught; (6) assignment sheets for homework or classroom use (answer sheets are also included); (7) paper-pencil and performance tests constructed to measure student achievement of each objective; and (8) test answers.
