| Abstract | The current economic relationships between a university and its local community are documented by many diverse studies. This bibliography spans a period from 1958 to 1974 and contains 74 items. Section I presents detailed information on the distribution of spending by students, faculty, and staff to illustrate the consistency with which expenditures are made. Section II, background studies, contains bibliographies, theoretical studies, procedural studies, and general studies. Section III, on special purpose studies includes items on student expenditures, foreign and out-of-state students, tax and tax-exemption studies, employment multipliers, and health science studies. Section IV, on general economic impact, includes items on the economic relationships that did not use the American Council on Education methodology, those that did use the methodology, and studies completed by the University of California campuses. Three indexes are provided to facilitate the use of the bibliography: individual and corporate authors, institutions represented in this bibliography, and the states, regions, and cities covered in the studies.
