Abstract	The freshman survey data reported here have been weighted to provide a normative picture of the college freshman population for persons engaged in policy analysis, manpower planning, administration, educational research, guidance and counseling, as well as for the general community of students and parents. The survey instrument was the Student Information Form. The data are reported separately for women and men, and for 38 different groupings of institutions. The major stratifying factors are predominant race of the institution (black or white), institution level, institutional control (including Protestant and Catholic), and the selectivity level of the institution (an estimate of the average academic ability of the entering class). The data are based on responses from 215,890 freshmen entering 393 institutions. Part-time students and non-first-time freshmen are not included. This is the eleventh annual report of an ongoing longitudinal study. (MSE)
