Abstract | The handbook, representing results of phase 1 of the National Agribusiness Manpower Project, identifies and defines occupations and industries requiring agribusiness competencies in the southeastern States. Occupational data presented in the employment tables are separated into three sections which comprise the major portion of the document. The 18 occupations in section 1 are positions that require agribusiness competencies in any industry in which they exist (e.g., all veterinarians). Section 2 consists of 54 occupations requiring agribusiness competencies only in certain selected industries (e.g., of architects, landscape architects utilize agribusiness competencies). Section 3 lists 67 occupations that require agribusiness competencies of only some workers in some industries (e.g., agricultural chemists in the chemical industry). In addition to industry and occupational attachment, employment is shown in each section by class of worker--private, government, self-employed, or unpaid family worker. (NJ) |
