Abstract | The educational operations for children in the Northwest Territories and for Eskimos in Arctic Quebec are presented in this review of the 1964-65 school year. This publication, the second annual report of the Education Services Division of the Department of Northern Affairs and National Resources, lists as one of its goals the preparation of young people to live and work with others and to earn a livelihood either in the north or in the provinces. In keeping with this goal, it is reported that vocational education programs and special projects pertaining to financial aid and scholarships have been instituted. The administrative organization of the Education Services Division is presented, along with information on school administration, curriculum planning, school services, finances, enrollment, teacher training and qualifications, and construction programs. Charts and tables provide statistical data. (BD/GC) |
