Abstract	A teacher staff of 21 was employed for 6 to 8 weeks during the summers of 1967, 1968, and 1969 at Virgin Valley, Nevada, with funding provided by the Elementary and Secondary Education Act (Title III). The purpose of the study was to determine the feasibility of summer employment for teachers by the school system. Project design called for 3 groups of 7 teachers each to work on curriculum development, to attend summer school, or to teach summer school. The groups rotated each summer to a different function. Findings indicated positive benefits in curriculum development and subsequent utilization, professional growth through additional training, and increased educational opportunities for the community through the availability of summer school. Improved relations were noted between faculty, administration, and the community. The conclusions were derived from a teacher questionnaire, an administrator questionnaire, salary statistics, and data from the National Education Association on extra income. (BD)
