| Abstract | This document presents self-perceived needs of managers and first line supervisors in the following Pennsylvania industries: chemical, rubber, and plastic products; banking; apparel, textile, and leather; construction; department stores; electrical machinery; fabricated metal products; insurance; machinery (except electrical); transportation equipment; gas and electrical utilities; petroleum refining; primary metals; professional, scientific, and controlling instruments; railroads; stone, clay, and glass products; telephone and telegraph; and transportation. Recommendations based on the information obtained through questionnaires are offered to the university, business and industry, individual managers and supervisors, and professional associations.
