Abstract | The dental technician performs completely one or more specialized areas of the dental laboratory procedures required in the creation of a dental appliance. Policies of the 8000 hour apprenticeship program are explained in terms of qualifications, apprenticeship terms and agreement, ratio of apprentices to technicians, probationary period, credit for previous experience, hours of work, compensation, examinations, work experience, related instruction, records and examinations, selection procedures, accident prevention, adjusting differences, and certificate of completion. Learning experiences are listed and related to time allowances for the denture, casting, ceramics, and crown and bridge specialities. (JK) |
