Abstract | EMPHASIS WAS PLACED ON STRENGHTENING INSTRUCTIONAL PLANS BY DEVELOPMENT OF SPECIAL RESOURCE MATERIALS AND ENCOURAGEMENT OF COORDINATORS TO CONSULT MORE FREQUENTLY WITH SUBJECT TEACHERS TO PLAN COOPERATIVELY FOR THE PROGRESS OF STUDENTS. STEP REMAINED EFFECTIVE IN MOTIVATING STUDENTS TO CONTINUE THEIR SCHOOLING TO GRADUATION, AS WELL AS IN UPGRADING THOSE STUDENTS WHO LEAVE BEFORE GRADUATION SO THAT THEY MAY BE BETTER PREPARED FOR THE WORLD OF WORK. THE BUDGET WAS $65,745.98, WELL BELOW THE ESTIMATED $85,075. MATERIALS DISTRIBUTED DURING THE YEAR INCLUDED--JOB ORIENTATION AND GUIDANCE CONTENT OUTLINES, JOB GUIDES, CIVIL SERVICE MATERIAL, JOB REFERRALS AND PLACEMENTS, LESSON PLANNING AND INSTRUCTION, MAPS, CARTOONS, AND ECONOMIC GRAPHS. THE ADVISORY COUNCIL FUNCTIONS IN AN IMPORTANT CONSULTANT CAPACITY. OF 577 INDIVIDUALS ENROLLED, 28.4 PERCENT WERE DISCHARGED, 36.4 PERCENT RESUMED THE REGULAR PROGRAM, 27.5 PERCENT CONTINUED IN THE PROGRAM, AND 7.7 PERCENT GRADUATED. OF THE DISCHARGED GROUP, 57.3 PERCENT WERE DISCHARGED FOR FULL-TIME EMPLOYMENT. OVER 80 PERCENT OF THE TOTAL WERE EMPLOYED IN PRIVATE INDUSTRY. |
