Abstract	In the era of modern sciences, scholars have expressed concerns about the moral and political aspects of science and technology. Ravetz (1984), the author of Scientific Knowledge and Its Social Problems, argued that there are two critical problems that must be examined in the discussion of science and values: the approach from the standpoint of the Muslim world and the total system of science and technology that so largely defines the civilisation of the Occident. In many respects, science and technology have become a part of liberation for mankind, yet from the Islamic perspective it can also be seen as a threat, cultural as well as material. Nevertheless, it also can be seen as a subject that can enhance human spirituality.
