Abstract	This issue of the SYP maintains the structure of previous issues: 28 subchapters grouped into four major themes. Each sub-chapter presents a sectoral analysis based on the latest data, and a set of summary indicators allowing for immediate perception of the portrayed phenomena. This issue of the SYP introduces information in the sub-chapters Population, Construction and Housing, Information Society and Political Participation. The sub-chapter Income and Living Conditions shows indicators on material deprivation and poverty intensity, as well as housing deprivation. This information is of great importance in the 2010 European Year for Combating Poverty and Social Exclusion. Within this scope, Statistics Portugal has issued a publication entitled 'Sobre a pobreza, as desigualdades e a privação material em Portugal' (On poverty, inequality and material deprivation in Portugal).
