Abstract	The first chapter places the review of the Netherlands in the context of the OECD policy study, presents the structure of the report, describes the main features of VET system in the Netherlands, compares it with other systems internationally, explores some key international indicators bearing on the system and examines its strengths and challenges. The following chapters advance policy recommendations [relating to]: work-based learning, teachers and trainers in upper secondary vocational schools, tracking and the lowest level of upper secondary Vocational Education and Training (MBO1), more flexible provision for adults in postsecondary vocational programmes and insufficient postsecondary vocational provision.
