AbstractThe essence of the applied vocational physical training is in training students for highly efficient work in different sectors of the national economy in the country universities in the following basic areas: learning applied skills and abilities, representing elements of specific sports; focused training of specific physical and special qualities especially important for the highly efficient work in a certain profession and acquiring applied knowledge. The purpose of the present study was to prove the foundations of the theory and methods of physical education in respect to the tasks of applied vocational physical training of students of higher school students. The studies indicate to the variety of forms of training students for public sports activity in production, to the need for further standardization of various forms, methods and means of such training from different universities. Mass recreational, physical training and sports events are some of the forms of applied vocational physical training. Here the programs and schedule of intra-institutional competitions between learning groups, courses and faculties are important. The introduction of applied sports or its elements to this event program and regularity of such events can in many respects improve the quality of applied vocational physical training. Hence, the variety of conditions of work of educational institutions, goals and content of the applied vocational physical training there and on different faculties presupposes selecting and using various forms and methods of the applied vocational physical training of students.
