| Abstract | The article summarizes the arguments in the articles of this issue in a first typing a "customer model" and a "learning community" model together. Behind each is a model of a completely different university. The customer model is incorrect - as shown - with his attempt at taking over an enterprise model to turn students into an "external factor" in a service process, that agrees neither historically, nor legally, or psychologically, sociologically or with educational theory of the past and present. However, could it be the guiding principle of the future? The promoters of the customer model argue that the present is so poor that reforms with economic models are urgently required. So it is worthwhile to discuss which model is appropriate, is so powerful to serve as guiding principles for the further development of higher education. The text shows us then why the ideas at the base of the Humboldt University will still lead to the highest achieving University in our time. To this end, however, they would need to be practiced more intensively and authentically in Germany. (HDZD/text adopted). |
