| Abstract | The purpose of the present research was to consider the problem of design of the control system of development of student sport in a modern university. Arising positive trends in development of student sports movement resulted in highlighting of the problem of design of the control system of student sport in a higher educational institution. Along with positive tendencies in development of student sport in our country it is important to pay special attention to existing objective problems, restraining the quoted process such as: deterioration of material-technical and resources provision of educative and educative-training process on physical culture and sport; lack of standard requirements on the volume of educative load for organization of training classes by kinds of sports in groups of sports perfection and conducting of sports mass activity on the faculties; lack of interdepartmental coordination and financial insecurity of sports calendar etc. The mentioned problems are also acute for Surgut state university. Therefore at present the integrated program of development of physical culture, sport and tourism is being created and will be subjected for approval to the academic council of Surgut state university. Adoption and further realization of the Program will promote substantial optimization of development of student sport in the university and give the given process a managerial character.
