Abstract	"Job quality is a multidimensional concept. In the framework of European Employment Strategy (EES), some indicators of employment quality were listed at the Laeken summit in December 2001, but this list does not take into account all the relevant dimensions of job quality. Using European data bases, and especially the Labour Force Survey, our quantitative analyses, based on PCA and innovative 'neuronal' techniques (Kohonen maps), reveal the heterogeneity of national situations with regard to European Employment Strategy indicators, but also to complementary variables that we have introduced to reflect four fundamental dimensions of employment quality (wages, skills and training, working conditions and gender equality). Besides, the results confirm the hypothesis that existing differences are related to institutions, and correspond to usual typologies of industrial relations systems, welfare states, and capitalisms. In a longitudinal perspective some convergence in employment quality appears among European countries." Die Untersuchung enthält quantitative Daten.
