| Abstract | The paper presents the evolution in the career field, from the static and restrictive perspective of vocational guidance to a more dynamic and integrative approach to career education, focused on the development of students' competencies and attitudes towards career choice. We made a demarcation of the concepts, showing that this transition was generally imposed by the changes in the labour market and the evolution of the theory in this field of interest. Career education as a tendency in a new world also implies new tendencies at the level of career new instructional methods, developing autonomy and initiative, acquiring self-promoting abilities, etc. Consequently, we tried to identify some useful intervention prescriptions which could serve as reference points in implementing career education in schools. |
