| Abstract | The essential processes in Central and Eastern European education since the beginning of the 1990s are part of a more complex, contradictory and long-term transition process which concerns politics, the economy, the fields of culture, education and science, social structures, every-day life, the mentalities and habits of peoples, and ... even the quality of international relations.... The author analyses some current developments and points out some results and problems of the reform of the former socialist educational systems.
