Abstract	The Arion study visits, which aim at better information and sensibilisation of education specialists and decision makers to new developments of the education systems in the countries participating in the action, are facing new expectations and demands. Instead of programmes which are too general or too wide and mixed in their approach, the organisers now tend to offer programmes which are better targetted, or which concentrate on a specific aspect of one of the themes of the programme. For this reason it was decided to issue this fifth edition of the catalogue of study visits in the framework of the Arion scheme for the 1998-99 programme. The information sheets on the study visits, drafted on the basis of information forwarded by the Member States, the EFTA countries or the new countries which participate in the programme, aim at helping the education specialists to make an appropriate choice.
