Abstract | The project, which has practically become a MUS-E programme today, brings artists into school in order to counter violence and racism through teaching the arts. In schools and classrooms, during school hours, and in the presence of teachers, workshops are led by artists. The take care to create a space where artistic experiences are possible. Children can discover their creative potential there and express their emotional faculties, which develops a great sense of respect and openness in them. The MUS-E model encourages children to feel satisfaction about what they do and arouses their interest and ambition to create as a source of balance.- This contribution was submitted by the author as a paper for the 25th ATEE Annual Conference in Barcelona 2000.
