Abstract	For international and comparative educators all over the world, Torsten Husen needs no introduction. Husen has been at the forefront of the development of this discipline, and these pages show what an important role he has played at all levels and in all the facets of international and comparative education. He is one of the few great educators who have a gestalt of both national and global education issues. Husen has long eschewed provincial thinking and planning, and he has been a leading proponent of nations seeking examples and experiences in other countries to deal with the issues at home.
