Abstract	This report, which has been prepared for the European Training Foundation in Turin, is based mainly on reports prepared by national experts on "Regulated Professions or Professional Activities covered by the Council Directive 92/ 51/EEC" in the candidate countries. It is divided into two parts: The first part deals with the scope of the directive. It includes a description of the state of play of regulated professions in each of the candidate countries and highlights the key issues as regards the implementation of the directive. The second part is concerned with the administration of the directive once it is implemented and with the roles of the national coordinator and of the competent authorities. This part will deal particularly with the provisions for recognition. The report is based, primarily, on the information contained in the experts' reports. It also draws on the outcomes of the related debates that the author has participated in in the countries over the last two years. (DIPF/orig.).
