Abstract	The development of intercultural skills is considered to be a success factor in the value chain at Bosch, a corporation with growing international potential.... The situations which occur most frequently in an international corporation are: 1) Relocation. 2) Short-term placement. 3) Business trips abroad. 4) Reintegration after long-term relocation. 5) Business contacts with foreigners in home country. 6) Strategic decision makers in international contexts. The functions of the intercultural toolbox may be summarized as follows. First of all, the involved parties are provided with tools which standardize the preparation of intercultural programs on the organizational level. This standardization in turn brings about a number of changes. The manager is able to organize a greater number of training courses. He may also spend more time improving the quality of his programs. Also, the standardization will make it easier for him to integrate other managers who have not yet worked in the area of intercultural training. Secondly, the toolbox makes sure that all parties involved have the same level of information, so that fundamental misunderstandings are less likely to happen. Finally, the modules provide the trainer and the manager with valuable impulses on the content as well as on the methodological level. The intercultural toolbox is a first step to standardize the process and to assure the quality of intercultural training worldwide. (DIPF/orig.).
