Abstract	The article highlights how Lithuanian educationalists view the major concepts of educational management. Part one characterises the relation between educational reform and school management in the context of new challenges after regaining independence from the former Soviet Union in 1991. Part two analyses theoretical problems of educational management. Part three describes the research and the process of data collection concerning education management in Lithuania. Four main groups were included in this study: students of education, teachers, school heads/deputies and professors/lecturers of education. The method of investigation was opinion sampling. The questions which were approached to the respondents concerned school as economic enterprise, school and social context, position of management, techniques and concepts of management. (DIPF/St.).
