Abstract	This is the first transnational analysis of vocational education and training (VET) reforms in Central and Eastern Europe (CEE) after 1990 that has been undertaken by the European Training Foundation (ETF). Part one gives an overview on the socio-economic context of education and training reforms in CEE. Part two characterises the structure and underlying organisational patterns of VET at the start of reforms. Part three analyses the present change process. Part four deals with challenges for training in the transition context. (DIPF/St.).
