Abstract | This contribution will deal with the rules of European Community Law pertaining to the rights of teachers (at the various levels of education) to exercise their profession in other EU countries than their own, or other countries than the one in which they were trained. Such professional mobility may occur either at the beginning or during a teaching career. However, the author emphasises that he will not deal with temporary staff mobility, where it is envisaged from the start that the staff member will return to her or his country at the end of the intended period. This form of mobility, which often takes place within the framework of an EC mobility programme, raises different, often less difficult, legal issues. (DIPF/orig.). |
