Abstract	It is the aim of this publication to provide a measure of support for national, regional and local guidance managers in their decision-making, and to help them in their task of modernising services. It is also the intention of this document to underline the importance and benefits of transnational cooperation with respect to guidance, and to encourage counsellors and others involved in the field of vocational guidance to participate in the transnational activities and projects which are going to be developed within the framework of the LEONARDO programme and other Community Programmes and Initiatives. "The Euroepan Dimension in Vocational Guidance" forms part of a series of PETRA publications presenting the results of the Programme. These publications are produced by the European Commission, in close cooperation with the Member States and with the National Coordination Units which they have set up to implement the Programme.
