Abstract | This text provides a framework for four studies on writing instruction for struggling writers with and without diagnosed learning disabilities. After students are introduced to the concept of writing texts in elementary school, the influence of students´ability to think on paper gains more and more relevance for success in life. But the writing process is complex and many students with and without disabilities struggle with the task of text composition while many teachers report that they did not receive adequate instruction on how to teach writing.
