Abstract | The article describes methods and results of a study of graduates from 11 basic technical schools and intermediate institutes in Mozambique. The graduates were asked about "their employment at two periods of time: a few months after graduation and currently.". The method used was a "reverse tracer study": "In the absence of information on the whereabouts of former technical education students, a new technique was used to contact respondents. Invitations were extended through newspaper advertisements and radio announcements to 1990 and 1991 graduates of the sample schools and institutes to attend local reunion parties. ... The reunions were held in ... 1993 at the institutions themselves or at nearby locations." (DIPF/Text übernommen/Bi.) |
