Abstract | The Phare Programme for Vocational Education and Training (VET) Reform that started in 1994 had the objective of contributing to long- term changes of the education system in the Czech Republic. It was allowed to experiment with the development of new curricula and teaching methods in 19 selected pilot schools. - The following list of topics has been selected for the evaluation: curriculum development; assessment and certification; educational management (at national and school level); teacher training; financing; quality control; research and development and internationalisation of VET; the role of social partners. This publication contains all the reports that have been produced during the course of the project. Part 1 contains the policy paper "Education for prosperity. Towards a learning society": Part 2 includes the three synthetic papers prepared by Czech experts, linking a number of separate issues together and bringing more coherence into the analysis. Part 3 presents the analytical paper of the working groups, while part 4 collects the papers prepared by the team of international experts. The annexes include a brief presentation of the Phare VET Reform Programme. (Some of the papers are documented separately.) (DIPF/orig.). |
