| Abstract | "The paper describes those aspects of the annual reports for eight years of the Research About Teacher Education Committee of the American Association of Colleges for Teacher Education which deal with the teacher education professorate and relates them to scholarly works in the field." The features of these research studies are: demographic composition of the teacher education faculty and their professional lives, taks and work. "The authors find consistency among studies, continual complexity of the role for teacher eduators, differentiation among faculty in different levels of higher education, and unevenness in scholarship."
