Abstract | Forschungsmethode: empirisch. "The objective of the study was to obtain information on the following questions. In what faculties or departments of universities or other institutions of higher education is social security teaching provided? What place does social security teaching have within degree programmes? Is it a major or a secondary subject? Is it compulsory or optional? How widely available is teaching on social security? Is it growing or declining in significance? What is the content of courses relating to social security? What does the recommended reading consist of? What is the professional background of the teachers? Do they have practical experience of social security? What are the career prospects for students taking courses in social security? Do universities offer extra-mural courses relating to social security? Needless to say, the information which is available is more detailed in some countries than in other, so that it is not possible to draw direct comparisons between the different countries with respect to all the questions which have been posed."
