Abstract | Competitive activities are used widely in physical education class both in the US and worldwide. These activities offered in physical education lessons are most commonly broken down into three domains: psychomotor, cognitive, and affective. The competitive activities that are incorporated into many physical education classes may elicit a strong affective response. Analyzing the affective domain, therefore, can be an important component during competitive activities. The purpose of this paper is to discuss ways of identifying the affective domain during competitive activities (i.e., context, curriculum) as weIl as the approaches toward incorporating analysis to aid educators and students in identifying those responses during the learning experience. This identification and analysis may ultimately create a more productive learning environment during these activities. This analysis can be a powerful tool in uncovering the sometimes hidden component of the affective domain of movement, the overall dass environment, and ultimately student learning. Verf.-Referat. |
