Abstract | This study examined demographic characteristics of out-of-school suspensions in the 142 schools of a Florida school district for the 1996-97 school year. Among suspensions and across levels black males were most Overrepresented, followed by black females. Most suspensions were for relatively minor misbehavior (especially disobedience) and were most frequent at the middle school level. (Contains references.) (DB) |
