Abstract | Examined relationship between family-of-origin functioning and eating-disordered behavior among female college students. Findings from 372 undergraduate sorority members revealed statistically significant inverse relationship between several family-of-origin characteristics and several eating-disordered attitudes and behaviors. Women who perceived their families of origin as having healthy functioning were more likely to report low levels of eating-disordered attitudes and behaviors. (Author/NB) |
