Abstract | This research-based set of hands-on activities can be used alone or alongside another text in any Diversity or Multicultural Education course (the activities are referenced in "Human Diversity in Education," Fifth Edition, by Cushner/McClelland/Safford, for which this workbook is an ideal companion). Instead of just telling, this workbook allows students to learn by doing and reflecting, through numerous activities that address a vast range of diversities including race, ethnicity, gender, class, disability, and sexual orientation. This workbook is organized into the following three parts: Part I: Getting to Know the Culture of Self (contains 10 activities); Part II: Getting to Know the Culture of Others: Intercultural Interaction (contains 18 activities); and Part III: Modifying Curriculum and Instruction to Address the Goals of Diversity (contains 8 activities). [This is the third edition of "Human Diversity in Action: Developing Multicultural Competencies for the Classroom with PowerWeb."] (ERIC). |
