Abstract | This document contains industrial education courses standards for 183 exploratory courses, practical arts courses, and job preparatory programs offered at the secondary or postsecondary level in Florida. Each program courses standard is composed of two parts. The first part, the curriculum framework, includes four major sections: major concepts/content, laboratory activities, special notes, and intended outcomes. The second part consists of student performance standards, which are listed for each intended outcome. Representative courses/program areas are as follows: automotive mechanics; masonry; aeronautical technology; air conditioning, refrigeration, and heating; air traffic control; aircraft mechanics; architectural drafting; automotive body repair; avionics; barbering; barge and boat operation; cabinetmaking; commercial art; commercial photography; sheet metal; welding; biomedical equipment technology; building maintenance; carpentry; commercial fishing; commercial foods; communication electronics; computer electronics technology; cosmetology; drafting; dry cleaning and laundering; electronics; film production technology; machining; graphic arts; heavy equipment mechanics; industrial electricity; land surveying; lathing; machining; manufacturing technology; meat cutting; metal fabrication; mine safety and health; occupational safety and health technology; office maintenance; plastering; printing; radio and television broadcast; roofing; technical illustration; and upholstery and furniture refinishing.
