AbstractThis manual begins by providing background on the program, collection, and acquisition processes of the Raymond Walters College (RWC) Learning Resources Center. The next section describes collection development policies for: (1) the academic departments (Animal Health; Behavioral Sciences; Biology; Business and Economics; Chemistry; Dental Hygiene; English and Speech; Foreign Language; History, Philosophy, and Art; the Learning Resources Center; Mathematics, Physics and Computer Science; Nuclear Medicine; Nursing; Office Administration; and Radiology); (2) administrative departments (Admissions, Business Office, Career and Personal Development Center, Dean's Office, the Learning Resources Center, Office of Educational Services, Registration and Records Office, Student Health Services, and Student Services Office); and (3) affiliated units (RWC Bookstore and YWCA/RWC Child Care Center). Policies for the special collections (audiovisual, browsing, microform, reference, reserve, and serials) are covered in the third section. The appendixes include: (1) the American Library Association (ALA) Definition of Collecting Levels; (2) RWC Learning Resources Center Policy on Gifts; (3) Library Bill of Rights; (4) ALA Standards for Two-Year College Learning Resources Programs; (5) statistics on percentage of Learning Resources Center service provided to each department; and (6) the form used for collecting data on policies.
