Abstract | The articles in this journal issue examine the characteristics of student writing apprehension, and teaching methods to alleviate it. The titles of the articles and their authors are as follows: (1) "Writing Anxiety: Reasons and Reduction Techniques" (Helen R. Heaton and Pauline M. Pray); (2) "Writing Anxiety and the Gifted Student Writer" (De Gutschow); (3) "Are Basic Writers Afraid to Write?" (Donna Gorrell); (4) "Encouraging Junior High Writers" (Monica L. Josten); (5) "Making a Writing Class a Community" (Robert C. Rosen); and (6) "Readers' Perceptions of Advanced College Writing and Adult College Graduate Writing" (Susan P. Miller and Charles F. Meyer). Reviews of selected books for children, adolescents, and teachers are included. (HTH) |
